Financial & Marketing Training for Women and Youth in Malinyi

As Agribusiness Consultancy Company we believe that real agricultural transformation starts with people not just with inputs or markets. That’s why we are proud to lead a comprehensive, hands-on training program in Malinyi District, Morogoro Region, targeting 1,400 women and youth groups engaged in rice production.

This effort is part of the Inclusive Rice Value Chain Project (IRVCP), implemented in collaboration with Nafaka Kilimo and funded by NORGES VEL. Our shared goal is to ensure that women and youth are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in today’s agribusiness environment.

What’s Happening on the Ground?

Through a series of interactive sessions, participants are learning how to:

  • Understand basic financial principles that apply directly to their farming operations.
  • Keep clear records of costs, inputs, and revenues to track performance.
  • Analyze profitability and identify opportunities to cut losses or increase value.
  • Improve their marketing strategies, including branding and customer targeting.
  • Navigate regulatory compliance to ensure they meet national standards and requirements.

What makes this program stand out is its practical approach we’re not just teaching concepts, we’re helping farmers use these tools to shape decisions and solve day-to-day challenges. The sessions are built around real farming experiences, group dialogue, and shared learning.

Why It Matters

Women and youth often face barriers to accessing extension services, agribusiness training, and finance. By focusing intentionally on these groups, IRVCP is working to close knowledge gaps and create fairer opportunities in the rice sector.

We’re not just looking at how much rice is harvested, but how farmers can manage, market, and grow their businesses sustainably—with confidence and clarity.

A Vision for Long-Term Impact

Strengthening capacity at the grassroots level is about more than just knowledge. It’s about:

  • Encouraging leadership among women and young people.
  • Promoting accountability within farming groups.
  • Creating resilient networks that continue to grow and adapt long after the project ends.

We are welcome all Agribusiness Stakeholders for Partnership and for the Agribusiness sector for Collaboration.
